The media could not be loaded. Let me be very clear: This Proton Pack is the bees knees. Yes. I said it. It is 100% worth every penny. One very important thing to understand is the complete and literal lack of options for anyone in the market for one of these things. As far as obtaining a "true to form" representation, you could spend thousands on a 1:1 scale replica prop quality "hero pack" from Anovos (which of course are no longer available) or you can buy a kit from them to build one yourself. From scratch. Yeah, if I feel like signing up for shop class again. Sorry, but those days were gone when 2002 ended. The only other option is to hit Etsy or EBay (once again a few thousand dollars will be necessary to tag along with you) and I'm not even going to explain why that is just a disaster waiting to happen. OR you could buy THIS. The Spirit Halloween Proton Pack is a saving grace. I'd say fresh out of the box you're all set. Grab a jumpsuit (coveralls/flight suit) off Amazon along with a pair of black military style tactical boots and tuck those pants in! Unless, you know, you're opting for a more Venkman-esque look, at which point I'd say a pair of black sneakers or loafers will suffice. A couple of other trinkets (the belt and patches) and you should be all set - without barely scraping $100 - now that's a miracle in and of itself. Those basics are more than enough to pass as legit to any regular con or partygoer. But let's say you want to REALLY look the part. As if you were on the way to a Ghostbusters initiation - auditioning for a spot in your local GB team's roster - and you don't have those thousands of buckaroos mentioned earlier. Well what if I told you that obtaining those movie accurate aesthetics is achievable with just one or two hundred dollars more? I mean a truly polished look that is sure to turn heads and be the highlight of any gathering. Well stay tuned if you want to know more. First, let me start by saying that I honestly can't believe that we live in a time where this is a reality. For years, and since I was a kid, I've dreamed of being able to "suit up" and look JUST like one of the boys. I purchased the Spirit pack with the full intention of modifying it (adding an A.L.I.C.E. pack frame/installing a standby light kit/ new paint job, etc.) and it just so happens that Amazon had almost all of the things I needed! The only other big investment was purchasing Habsro's new Spengler Neutrona Wand from the Habsro Pulse website. This allows me to get all of the movie authentic sounds and looks without painstakingly modifying the wand that came included (no more shop class) with the Spirit pack and the bonus is having a plasma blaster that actually fits my hands. These additions (and replacements) to the pack instantly boost the authenticity and realism of this infamous accessory. Not to mention turning the dial up on that Wow! factor that is sure to impress kids (as well as adults) when they demand a demonstration. What Spirit has produced and what they charge for it is more than acceptable. The only things I would really suggest to them if given the opportunity would be to make some small tweaks here and there that really solidifies my "good as is" opinion (meaning no mods - just straight out the box). The biggest thing - the straps. This is a total ball drop from Spirit. What's odd is that the straps are actually the correct olive green color on another pack they make - the one included with the full costume set they sell. Another minor change that shouldn't be too hard to make would be the lenses on the cyclotron lights. Just use some translucent red plastic guys -not too crazy. I'm sure there will be some slight changes and improvements down the line as they have already adjusted a few things since released in 2017. For example the straps used to be much thinner and not cushioned at all - now they are actually like backpack straps (although GREEN would be incredibly ingenious and instantly improved). The wand could definitely use some improvement (front face the red light to where the slo-blo indicator SHOULD be and bring the ON/OFF switch forward to meet the thumb. I know this is a ramble sesh but I just wanted to let anyone know who may be or may have been on the fence about getting one that this is totally worth it - especially for kids that are into Ghostbusters as new fans and will probably enjoy the hell out of Ghostbusters Afterlife coming next year. For adults looking for that replica quality collectible - this has the potential "packed" into it and so much more! There are so many sources available - from the simple cosmetic upgrades to the more intricate and involved internal improvements (most of which I found on YouTube) and they provide links to where certain kits/parts can be purchased. Most of the mods require minimal skill and take little to no time with very few tools or additional expense needed. I spent maybe close to 300 dollars when it's all said and done - that's including the jumpsuit / boots / custom velcro name patch / EVERYTHING. That's still hundreds of dollars less than fully modded Spirit packs for sale on Etsy or EBay (and like I said before, that's just asking for trouble) and thousands less than a 1:1 scale pack which is really only best when built therefore it costs as much time as it does money. So guys, that's it. That's my take on this famously fabulous, film-fashioned, FUNctional, FANtastic, fright-fighting, fantasy-fueled firearm that will for sure fascinate any fellow con or partygoer as well as any child - including the kid in you. Love it! Great for the price. Obviously not an exact replica for the more discerning customer, looking to get a perfect movie set copy, but it works wonderfully for those of us who can’t afford the “perfect,” and don’t mind settling for “very good.” The lights and noises are great. Bought this, actually, for my six year old son because he practically lives in his ghostbusters costume and he needed a more permanent proton pack (as opposed to the cheap blow up version that came with the outfit). It’s a bit big on him, but he doesn’t mind. I would not recommend buying this for a child under 50” tall. He loves to bust ghosts all over the house and he had a blast on Halloween. I loved that the lights made him visible at night.Cons:If you buy for a child, be aware that it has some sharp edges to it, which is why I do not recommended this for young kids (Probably not safe for under 6 years).There are no instructions for battery installation, which was super annoying; mostly because I was trying to look for something to unscrew in the front of the pack and failed (although I did unscrew and screw back in multiple features, haha). The battery pack is in the back underneath a flap in the soft padding. Once I finally discovered that, installation was simple and easy.Despite the cons, I believe this product deserves 5 stars. If you are a ghostbusters fan looking for a cool, inexpensive replica, I highly recommend this product!

Really cool, but not high quality materials, if dropped it would break easily.

Came a little damaged but luckily my boyfriend who I bought this for didn't mind because he planned to modify it. The size was good enough being adult sized and only slightly smaller then the ones in the movie. The only real dawbacks are that the noise it makes kinda sound like a flused toilet lol and the wand part that connects to the main part of the pack falls fairly easily. Like maybe they should have used a stronger magnet. Overall it is a good product for the price and a great deal because it had light effects while another model very similar to this did not.

We bought this proton pack for our 3 year old son for Christmas. He had been asking for one since September when he was introduced to Ghostbusters. Opening up this gift was the highlight of his Christmas. It's a little big on him, as it was made for adults, but the lights and sounds work perfectly. Plus it is super lightweight, so he can wear it on his back and it doesnt hurt him.

WOW !!! Seriously Great addition to Ghost Busters costume. Looks Cosplay ready, comes with lights and sounds that catch everyone's attention. Light weight, due to all plastic material and has very good details.This is a Must have to take your Ghost busters costume to the next level.Highly recommend.

First one came broken, but it was super easy to get a replacement and return the broken one.

My son is really into Ghostbusters so I happily bought this for him, even though the price was kind of high. He only played with it one week and 1) a piece fell off that we tried to glue back 2) the hose broke so we taped it back on 3) the strap broke so we tried to sew it bavk together 4) the sound only works when it wants to. We really wanted to keep it, thats why we kept trying to fix it. But if this is what happens after one week, then for sure it won't last until Halloween. My son is older, not a small kid, so he didnt go crazy throwing this around, he was just cosplaying with his Ghostbuster costume.
