Cause when I opened up the box I just went "YIKES!" There is a lot in that box. You can download a PDF manual for each project...I hate manuals...but low and behold they have video tutorials! Now lesson one was not great quality, the volume was too low and thank goodness for the subtitles. The good news is the sound quality gets better in later videos. If you or a child want to learn coding this is a great kit especially if you, like me need a video course to go with it. The tutorials are not the greatest, but they get the job done. I found this to be reasonably priced.

This kit is amazing! My inner child totally lit up as I opened the box and looked at all the awesome components it came with.The kit is very much an age 14-and-up product. It's way over the head of my 9-year-old who is obsessed with coding and all things electrical engineering, but it's perfect for me to do it with him sitting by my side.My only wish is that the PDF instruction book you can access with the kit was written just a touch more for the true beginner: using some simple analogies for electricity and what components do and how the big picture of each project works. While it does explain what all of the parts are, it uses full jargon to do so, and that can be overwhelming at times; I googled quite a few different things along the way, but still got it and enjoyed the journey!Note: You have to already have a Raspberry Pi device to pair this with; it is not part of the kit. We have one, and this kit was a perfect add-on to give us so many different ways to use the Pi. The possibilities are endless! Now I just want more time to play with it!

Most Raspberry/Arduino builders know much of what they do will eventually rely on custom PCBs that transcend the basic kits sold that provide you with the building blocks for prototyping (breadboard, leds, caps, resistors, interface module). Once you reach a certain point, depending on what you're trying to do, you will require more customized PCBs to help with other functionality (echo location, visual/audio input, motors, external power packs, etc...).This is the type of kit that provides a bit of the basic needs but also includes a very nice assortment of more advanced parts to really get you to the next level for projects. This is reflected in the heftier pricing, but in this kit are so many parts I will need over the next month or two that it is worth its weight in gold as it is part of many kits and parts that will be put into use for a custom python driven project.5/5

This little kit has pretty much everything you need to get started working on software/hardware raspberry pi projects. It is a little expensive and the materials aren't of the highest quality I've seen, but the quality is passable and the fact that this kit comes with PDF instructions/tutorials makes the price well worth it. I'd (separately) acquired a few of one of the kinds of sensors in this kit and hadn't been able to find a good tutorial/instructions on how to set up/use the sensors, but the instructions in this kit gave me the direction I needed to finally get the sensor up and running - very satisfying. I've still got several projects left to work on with this kit - many, many hours worth. If you're looking for a fun kit to provide an engineer tinkerer in your life with enjoyment, this is your kit.
