Full refund for my computer.
The headphone jack and one USB plug died on my Dell after about 17 months use. Asurion took it in, but after trying a couple of times couldn't get the parts needed for repair. They refunded me my total purchase price (minus taxes). I am very impressed!Over the years, we have needed to have several other laptops repaired. Asurion has always been thorough and punctual with getting them fixed and back to us. Thank you!

Dead Computer Lives
The experience is very fast and easy. You file the claim, they send you packing materials and a postage paid label, follow their instructions, seal up the box, and UPS it to them. They fix your item and return the item to you. The trouble I had, first, let me start with, I work in the technology business, so I do this kind of work all the time, but I bought the coverage so that while the kids are at school, they can get this fixed on their own. The computer had to go in for service because one day it wouldn't turn on. Based on the symptoms I would've changed the battery, but, it's under warranty so send it in. It came back working which is the main point, but it didn't come back with the charger it was sent with. The charger they sent works fine, but you can tell it was used with less than careful hands and not like the one that was cared for and sent in. The other thing was, the hard drive was wiped clean and there's no explanation of why. Again, being I do this line of work, I'm curious to know why it had to be wiped clean. Maybe there was something more wrong than the battery; I doubt it, the computer wouldn't even power up to the BIOS, so clearly a power issue. But without some kind of closing notes of what was done to repair the issue, we'll never know what was wrong with it. But to end on a positive note, the computer works perfectly again so that's the important part.

My wife's computer was having some issues so we filed a claim on 11/29. Asurion took three days to send a box and then sent it on the boat and we packed the computer and sent it to the service center the day we received the shipping box (12/6). They received it on 12/9. I received a text on 12/9 saying to expect 5 days to repair then another saying to add a few days because they had to order parts. Every day for the last week I received a text and e-mail with a status update link that still said that they shipped the shipping box to me and are waiting for the product to arrive. I did a chat with them tonight to find out that they Identified they needed a part on 12/9 but did not order the part till 12/15. They still cannot tell me when they expect the part or when I expect the computer back. My wife has been without a computer for over two weeks now and they just ordered a part yesterday. They have no phone number to call for support. They do not update their repair status. I would not be surprised if it would be another two weeks before it is back, and I have no faith in their ability to repair the computer based on their lack of ability to keep my up to date on the status. I am very dissatisfied with their speed of service and their ability to keep me up to date on the status. They do not seem to care about the customer because they already have my money. I wish Amazon offered another option for a service plan.
