Great sound for budget speakers. Used these to replace blown door speakers in my RAM with Infinity sound system. The amp automatically blocks high frequencies so I was mot expecting any midrange. They actually soo produce some midrange fill. I was surprised. The bass hits hard at full volume limit. I do use sound deadening on the metal door panel behind the speakers. That may be why the bass is fuller. These feint into the existing frame without modification. Very pleased for my situation.

A 3.5+ star rating with disclaimers:I purchased these for a 17 Ram 1500 crew cab, and these 3 way's by far a MASSIVE improvement over those garbage OEM speakers with the OEM head unit. I am not going to shortchange the speakers over the head unit paltry output.TIPS: You will need 1/4 inch spacers which will work with the retaining hardware from the OEM speaker. This is a threaded nutsert in the door panel FYI. Also purchased were the adapter pig tails to avoid a hack job. Crutchfeld has the ability to listen to the audio samples and i found myself gravitating toward the lower end Pioneers. These bring the clarity up a notch forgoing the bass. Pioneer offers a direct drop in.. JVC has had very clean audio over the years, which i have come to appreciate. Although it looks like they are getting out of the car audio scene leaving Kenwood (JVC/KENWOOD) to handle that department.Rating: because they are discontinued and appear to be exiting the mobile audio market i have to give it the 3.5+ star rating. If you appreciate clarity, JVC, then i think you may appreciate these and give it 4.5 stars! For my application it gets a little dicey with Pioneer as a direct fit which most may appreciate more. They are good for replacing the OEM speakers. Even with the low price, the mid-range sound is very good. However, the base is weak. For most cars, this might be actually better becase it will make the sound felt more clear in cars without too much sound proofing insolation materials. They are not designed for luxury cars.

Good speakers if you don’t wanna spend a lot of money. very easy set up. They look amazing.
