I bought this binder for myself for work. I wanted something very practical but still polished. I would say that this padfolio is just okay.I started the process of returning it, because I have seen much higher quality ones available on eBay and Etsy at similar price points, but ultimately changed my mind and decided to keep it. I don't love it, but it gets the job done. I don't expect it to last very long, as the leather feels very vinyl-like, and I am anticipating it will tear or crack fairly easily. I do wonder if the matte version would feel higher quality. I purchased the burgundy, and the color is a rich chestnut with maroonish undertones. Ultimately, this is pretty much what you'd get at OfficeMax or whatever. Nothing special.One small annoyance, and a note for the manufacturer, is that the pen slot is rather poorly designed. First of all, it's essentially just a torn slit between the two layers of leather. There's no stitching preventing the slit from tearing and expanding. Also, since the "pocket" (term generously used) goes all the way down, the only thing preventing the pen from getting lost is the clip on the pen itself.All in all, I'd recommend getting a cheaper one, if you're looking for function over quality. If quality is a priority for you, I'd recommend spending a little more to get something special.

Very happy with this. I can't find my leather portfolio from years ago, and I was able to get this quickly before a business trip. Very well crafted, good quality leather. Good attention to detail. I'd buy it again.

I'm very disappointed. I purchased this as a gift for a college graduate. I was interested in having it arrive in a beautiful gift box (as noted in the description). It didn't come with one. AND I was not able to have it engraved (as indicated in the questions/answers and comments). Now I just have a generic portfolio in no gift box and no engraving.

This is beautiful, feels rich in your hand and even the pad of paper inside is high end. I will treasure this and pass it on to my sonwhen the time comes. Wow this is an amazing deal. The leather is high quality, stitching is superb and it is thickly padded. I had another portfolio like this that lasted over 20 years and I am hoping this one lasts that long also

Item looked nice when it first arrived, however when I went to insert the first pen, the pen opening tore on both sides like thin cardboard. Poor design, and quality of this area--a place to hold your pen is a pretty important thing for this product. Look at the photos I included before you buy for yourself.

Portfolio arrived in a box of high quality. The leather is of high quality and the price was exactly what I was willing to pay and the quality of the portfolio is of high quality, one that I would have expected to have spent much more to get, it has multiple pockets to hold documents and a quality notepad.
