TimexWomen's Easy Reader Watch

Nice looking watch
I wanted an inexpensive watch that was still a nice looking one and this is it. It is a classic style watch that looks good and is easy to read. I had a bit of a problem getting it to the right size for my wrist and opening and closing the band. The instructions weren’t helpful but I more or less figured it out and am happily wearing it now.

It Stopped Working Immediately, and Timex is months backed up for repairs. Don't buy this!
I loved the simple design of the watch. Just a basic timepiece was the goal. But after only 3 months, it's not reliable, sporadically working or not working. I did not get it wet or abuse it. The weird watchband is hard to manage, especially by oneself, but it's supposedly a safety lock, and you can get used to it. The instructions are incomprehensible and useless. I had used the light feature three times only, and I wonder if that caused the battery to fail. Or is it just a cheap piece of junk. Customer service says they are backed up by many months. Timex used to be such a solid product, but the company was sold, and now . . . I do not recommend it.

Strange band closure
This watch does not have the typical band with buckle. No, it has an awkward folding closure that is difficult to work with and does not have any kind of adjustment to it. I am stuck with their band size. I like the clock face so I’m keeping it. But I’m buying a new buckle from Amazon.

complicated metal clasp closure on the strap
Overall, this is a very nice watch. However, it is NOT your typical buckle. I decided to keep it after I figured out the strap closure. But let me warn ya... it's initially complicated to figure out. Outside of the vague photos on the product page (which should clearly show how the strap opens & which parts are adjustable) there are no obvious warnings or directions. Even the enclosed watch directions came in print so tiny that a magnifying glass is required. Ultimate downside is that it is not as quick or easy to put on/take off or adjust the length. However, once you put it on and take it off a few times, it's fairly easy to understand. I went from extremely frustrated to really liking the way it looks... and the fit was perfect. I'm liking that it looks a bit better than the one I usually buy with a regular buckle (on the buckle side). Just trying something different. Simplicity and function are things I value. But I don't know how functional this clasp will be after some time. Time will tell.HOW TO OPEN/CLOSE THE STRAP:To double check if it was just me being clueless about this wristband, I asked two other people who never used such a strap to try & open this clasp minus directions. I took pity on them after 5 min. and decided to write this review.- It will arrive closed. Don't pull at the metal chunk on the outside of the watch that says TIMEX. That piece is what you pull at to change the hole it is in and adjusts the length. Pull at the metal bar on the inside of the watch. You can pull at either side and it will click open pretty easily. Some confusion will come because you'll be afraid to break something and might not pull hard enough at things.- One side will open. There is also a second/opposite side you will need to pull at so it opens fully. You likely won't fit your hand in there until you open both ends.- As far as I can tell the strap ends stays connected by the metal until you pull at the "buckle" that says TIMEX and remove it from the hole. Then the watch ends will separate.- You won't know what hole size you need until you strap it on your wrist.- Put it on your wrist. You will need to snap it shut in 2 places, one at a time, from each end. Each end folds over and clicks shut. Then put your strap end through the 2 free loops and see if it fits.- If it does not fit, you will need to remove it from your wrist first. I pull UP at the end of the leather strap like a lever and it clicks right open on one end. Then you pull open the opposite end.- Once the watch is removed and fully open, adjust the length by pulling at the metal chunk that says TIMEX. You might have to pull a little hard. On the underbelly is a metal stub that fits in the holes. Once open put it in the hole you need and try it back on.

Uncomfortable Leather Band
The watch face is nice but the band is hard to put on and adjust. The metal extension pinches. Rather than return the item I ordered a new plain standard buckle strap.

Just what I needed
Needed this to take a test where they did not allow smart watches. I actually love this watch
