The straps are sturdy and great for my backpack everydayUPDATE so after riding a few times one of the straps have broken.. the rubber on the inside of the cotton or nylon busted. The only part that is holding the strap together is the nylon/cotton piece. These are OK for what they are but I need something sturdy as I go to school all year round.

Super handy
After a couple weeks of constant use the elastic broke inside a couple. They still worked, but not as well as new.

Strap failure within an hour of first use
I got these straps to replace a broken Rok strap. I used the new straps a couple of days ago on a motorcycle trip and one of the straps failed right away. I stopped for a break about an hour after using the straps to secure a bag and noticed one of the straps had failed. The elastic had stretched at the anchor point and no longer had any elasticity. I can't recommend these at all.
