Great gift!
My husband is really into Chess, however, I struggle to play. I bought this game as a birthday gift for him so we could play “chess” together. This game was quick and easier to learn! We both enjoyed playing this game together and have already recommended it to others. It really does fit its description!

Good intro to Chess, but some games easily turn into a stalemate
I got this to introduce chess to my 7 year old. She has friends in first grade that play and she just watches because she doesn't know how to play. I know the description says 8 years and older, but really, I think that's just a recommendation.Pros -I like the simplified approach to chess here. Chess for a 7 year old is overwhelming due to all you have to remember and the different moves that each piece has. The design of this game helps reduce your focus to just a piece at a time (whatever card that gets pulled). And the card that gets pulled has the available moves for the piece, so this game really helps in learning the basic game. The board, cards and pieces all seem well made so should last a while. A bag is provided to put all the pieces in, which is a nice touch.Cons - Many of the games turn into a stalemate. The game starts with only your king on the board and it can't move. And you can only place a piece on the board based on the card you pull and if there is a space in front or back of the king, or to its right or left. Once those places are full, you are unable to place anymore pieces. There were several games where you are just going back and forth between cards without a move since you can't move any piece other than what shows up on the card. So it just ends up being a situation where you have to wait for that card to reappear again before you can do anything. So those games got pretty boring fast. I suppose the best thing to do in those cases is just start over, but my daughter wanted someone to win so we kept on going. Which then just got tedious and boring. Don't do what we did, just start over.Overall, this is a great introduction to chess for your child and would recommend to anyone wanting to learn the basics.

Very fun and fast paced take on Chess
I saw this in a YouTube video and it piqued my interest. If you love chess at all, you will enjoy this game. Games take 1 to 5 minutes and you can't stop playing. My wife and I don't play chess against each other but we do play this. We played 10 games of this on the first night! Pick this up for anyone who loves chess.Overall quality is cheap but for the price... totally worth it!

Great Beginners Intro To Chess
Less Chess is a fun game that is quick and easy to play. It is basically combining a card game with traditional chess to create a fast paced board game. Depending on how the cards fall, the game can be over in a flash or take a couple of minutes for each round. The game itself takes up very little space so it is perfect for small areas. You get all the standard chess pieces and cards which instruct you how you can move the piece during that turn. The aim of Less Chess is to get the king in check in three different ways at the same time. I would say if you are looking for a way to get someone into chess or you just like to play short quick games, then Less Chess is a great game for a family, kids, classroom, or couple to enjoy in their spare time.

Simplified Chess
The set is quite cheaply made but still very playable. It great for kids to learn some chess and not be overwhelmed by the full game. For seasoned chess players its a way to play short rounds in succession which is quite fun.

Fast-paced fun
This is quick to learn and even quicker to play, at only around five minutes a game. You get a full set of plastic chess pieces, the small board with fewer squares than a full chessboard, and the cards, which introduce a fun element of random chance by instructing you on which piece you get to place or move on a given turn. You start with only kings on the board, and they are fixed in place. The object of the game is to arrange your pieces so three of them are positioned such that each has your opponent's king in check. The directions are only in English and might not be super clear if you aren't already familiar with how the different pieces move. This would be an even better value if they included a standard chessboard as well, but I think this is well worth owning if you like chess or want to start teaching kids the game by introducing them to how the pieces move without taxing their attention spans. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed it and expect to play it often.

Great Chess based game!
After first opening and getting started, my son and I played almost a dozen games in a row. We weren't able to put it down!A great mix of a chess game and a card game. Some elements of chess remain, but the cards add a whole new dimension. This is a good introduction to chess without being overwhelmed by a full board! The video attached to the product is pretty good. YouTube Search: "How to play Less Chess" by Triple S Games if you want more info.I HIGHLY recommend this game! Hours of non-stop fun.

Fun take on chess
My 10 year old loves chess, but can’t always convince others to play with him. This game is so easy and fun that novice players have no problem! And it’s compact enough to take on the go.
