It smells
The material looks nice and good quality but it smells awful and it can make entire room smell. in my opinion the middle of straw piece is making this smell.

Beautiful runner, Bargain price
Lovely table runner, adds a bit of warmth to the dining room and fits our decor perfectly. I got the longer one because I wanted it to drape over the sides. Such a bargain! Love it! X

Doesn’t smell for long!
This is a fantastic looking table runner. I have noticed on a lot of the reviews people are talking about the smell that gives off. I would say the smell reminds me of a cellar, It’s not unpleasant and it doesn’t smell damp or anything it’s just a very specific smell. But the smell faded within about two days and even then it wasn’t overpowering it was only when you went close to it and sniffed. I’ve washed it a couple of times and there is no smell now.
