They don't really have a scent so it's hard to tell what "flavor" they may have BUT my dogs enjoy them; they gobble them up. As far as the calming effect, it's hard to gauge. My German Sheppard is unphased but he's a mutant as far as chaotic energy is concerned. He sprints for 30 minutes at a time when chasing a ball. He'll "relax" for about an hour (maybe). Then he wants to go back at it for another 30 minutes. He's four, and he still has zero chill. I gave him the recommended amount, nothing. I added one, nothing. I did this over two weeks, until I got to double the dose for his size... mildly, maybe, some affect. He will take a little bit of a longer nap but he's right back on crazy when he wakes up.One of my huskies is a nervous sort. I give her the recommended dose and she calmly collects her stuffed squeaky toys and relaxes in bed for most of the day. She's still playful but not upset or neurotic in behavior. Her sister just gets one "for show" as to not feel left out. She's the only calm one of the group. My findings are: If your dog has an insane amount of energy, don't bother with these, just let them get as much exercise as they want/need. Maybe a dose before bed will keep them relaxed through the night and maybe you'll get to sleep in a little. maybe. If you've got a little nervous one, it really seems to help!

When I hired a trainer for my rescue dog from Puerto Rico he recommended this product. I can honestly say I see no change in her however there is no adverse affects as well. Therefore I ordered a second jar. The product compared to other brands appears contain a valued amount of healthy ingredients and not fillers as in other brands.

My dog loves Green Gruff Soothe Skin and Coat - Dog Skin & Coat Care Chews - Fish Oil Supplement for Dogs.Her skin stays irritated on her lower belly and these chews have lessened the irritation. I think her skin is particularly susceptible to inflammation because she tucks her nose into her side to sleep. These treats are a great size and very easy to give. I love that they do not smell fishy to me. I originally bought the small pouch of this product and they seemed to make an improvement, so I went ahead and bought the much larger size. They arrived in a resealable jar. I will continue to buy these to help with her skin. I deducted one star as they are a bit expensive.

I purchased this because my husky was struggling with dry, itchy skin. I started her off with one, then gradually increased her to the recommended dose of three for her weight. The itching did not stop immediately, but within two weeks, it was decreasing. She has now been taking this for about a month. She is no longer itching like crazy and her coat is noticably softer. She loves the taste too.

They seem to be helping the dryness of their coats. I will continue giving them to my dogs to see if the results continue.
