LUME CUBE Bluetooth External Flash & Video Light for Casual Capture Devices

The brightness of the Lume cube is incredible. I purchased a few of these as a portable continuous light source when recording video. The work great and the batter has lasted me for at least an hour. In addition to being used as a continuous light one can use the Lume cube app for taking photographs which will cause these to flash as the picture is being taken.One potential drawback is that to use the Lume cube application you must register your e-mail address. For me this was no problem for but for some it is an issue. Also to pair these with the phone it is necessary to put in the serial number for the unit. This means that you would need to keep track of the serial number to retain the ability to pair it again with a different phone. Those this is resolved easily enough by just emailing the numbers to yourself so that they can be found later. I've looked to see i there is anything that could be done were the serial number ever lost and as of yet I have not encountered anything. Note that if the camera app built into your phone has any special features you will not be able to access them when using this as a flash. You must either use the Lume cube camera app to take the picture or turn these on as continuous lights to use your own camera app.The unit is operated by two buttons on the top. When using it as a continuous light a single press on the left button (orientated such that it is facing away from you ) will turn it on at its minimum brightness. Pressing the button again will take it to the next step of brightness with there being ten brightness settings. Pressing on the right button will turn it off. Long presses on these buttons server other functions when using it with the app (bluetooth pairing, sampling the brightness of the room with the built in light sensor).The units charge over micro-USB. A Micro-USB cord is included. The charging port is covered to protect it from water and is exposed by using a coin to unscrew the USB cover on the back of the unit.

Worked great the first 5 times it was turned on, then the top right control button quit. Waiting to hear back from Lume Cube. Amazon does not offer a replacement, only a refund? I guess because I bought it on sale?? I want to try another one. So when, or if that ever happens I may change the review depending of course on the results. Anyway, at first testing it seemed decent. It seems to have good solid construction, but the one I got has some messed up electronics! On sale or not though, Amazon should offer a replacement IMO. Maybe its Lume Cube who wont let them??Update 12-2-2016 Lume Cube is working to get it replaced! After messing with it in the APP, I cant wait to get it back! I ordered another one thru B&H, cuz their return policy is better than Amazon. My fault for not checking I'm sure.Update 12/15/2016; just received a replacement Lume Cube from the manufacture! Hoping for the best. Got another one already from B&H and it works great. Easy customer service!

This Light is super cool. I love it, and I find it to be incredibly useful. I already dropped it as I was riding my bicycle, and it worked perfectly afterwards. This is a great product. I might buy another one soon.

You will not use this as a flash at all so dont buy it.

Fantastic light!! Super bright, and very portable. A terrific companion for your smartphone to take photos in low light. Case in point: check out the attached photos I took visiting Alcatraz. The first dark photo was from my LG G3 phone. My Canon 70D dSLR was no better with my travel lens. Then I perched the Lume Cube on the bar ledge, cranked up the brightness, and took another shot with my phone. The difference is amazing!I'll never travel without this again.

These little lights are great. I got it on a Black Friday sale but they're still kind of expensive. The light is very blue, I'm probably going to have an orange gel permanently attached. They do get warm, but not burn your fingers warm that I've noticed.

It is a great secondary flash I like how it can be controlled by the iphone.

Unterwasser! Das war der Trigger für mich, den Lume Cube zu kaufen. Denn er ist echt wasserdicht. Nicht wie so manchen IP x7 Taschenlampe, die immer nass werden innen.Ok, mein Einsatzgebiet ist speziell: ich mach Unterwasser-Lightpainting u.a. damit. Dafür aber top. Es el segundo que me compro y estoy encantado con ellos. Lo recomiendo para quien necesite luz en un dispositivo de muy poco tamaño.

Sono garantite fino a 30 m sott'acqua e invece giá a 20 m non si accendono.sono molto delusa del mio acquisto .
