Great gift idea for young dancer
My daughter loves this. It helps her practice her dance turns. It took a little while to get used to. She was afraid that she would fall while using it. Husband was worried about it scratching the wood floors but it hasn’t yet.

Great little disk
Good size for my 10-year-old to practice her turns! She prefers this disk to the turning board she had been using!

Very Fun
This product is great! I love that the foot pad is so comfortable and has good grip so there's no slippage. I tried this on a linoleum and my carpet and it worked great in both places

Relevé
I was hoping this would be a good tool for dancers to use. I just do not feel like you can get a good and proper relevé on the disc.

Start Small
This wasn't exactly as I expected. When I was looking at the pictures, I had imagined something more like a disc that free turns within a base like a lazy susan. This is just a plastic disc with a rounded bottom and cushioned top. And much smaller than I expected, as it almost fits in my palm at just 5inches across. That's not to say it isn't fun. Though I had my doubts, of course the first thing I did was put it on the carpet, the highest friction surface in the house, and gave it a turn. And it worked great! Of course, the reason I got this was because my turns are terrible, so unlike other reviewers, I wasn't getting two and three turns on the first day, but my single turn was a neat little whip. Until I moved into the hardwood room. Talk about a total change! There's so much less friction that in my first attempt wiped out. After a little more experiments just reassuring myself that this wasn't going to fly out from underneath me, I tried again. This time starting small with the controlled quarter and half pirouettes. From there it was much easier to find my balance, and I will be sure to work my way up much slowly. So my advice, if you really suck at turns (like me), start small.

Works For This 59yr Old West Coast Swing Dancer!
I do a lot of partner dances, but my passion is a style called West Coast Swing. Followers are often led in what we call "Single Foot Spins" where we spin in place like a Pirouette except that the leader is the one that creates the turn. While I am really good at all the traveling turns, I just have struggled to master this one move.I got one of the spinning boards and it helped a bit but I had trouble figuring out the balance point. With this disc it only took about half a dozen tries before I started to find the "Sweet Spot". Given that we are unable to dance right now thanks to COVID, this is something I can do on my own to fix this one place where I have had a lot of frustration. If it works for this old girl, it should work for any dancer or skater who is working on finding the balance point and strength for any of the sustained "in place" turns. If anything changes I will come back to update ... and maybe once I master the spins I'll post a video of me being led in a spin too! SO excited to put this to use and surprise my leaders when we can dance again!
