Sir Winston Churchill died in January 1965 at the age of ninety. A holder of most cabinet posts during his political career but remembered as the Prime Minister of Britain during Word War II when he seemed to put into words the thoughts of the nation. In his honour, in 1974 - one hundred years after his birth, a set of four postage stamps was issued to commemorate the centennial. The display set contains these four stamps as well as the three coins issued for circulation in that year, namely: ten pence, penny and halfpenny. The coins are all dated 1974 and are in uncirculated (UNC) condition. The stamps are in unused, Mint condition as issued. Our manufacturing process is a precision laser cutting method to create holes in which the coins can be inserted: thus holding securely in position without harming them.
