Smooth w/ gentle grit. Wonderful grit adds mouth feel. Slightly creamy, bite but not bitter
"Chocolate With True Grit. We use traditional Mexican stone mills, called molinos, to grind our cacao. The hand-carved stones that turn inside these mills preserve the bright, fruity flavors of the beans, and create a chocolate that's bold, rustic, and satisfyingly gritty -- unlike any other chocolate you've tasted"I flipping LOVE this "Super Dark" chocolate (85%). I adore the slight grit. It adds to the sensory experience. It IS satisfying. It isn't jarring to me at all. I'm in love. Think this is my new favorite for 85% cocoa because of the texture. It is just awesome (to me). This is my first time trying Taza chocolate. I am new to purposely eating dark chocolate. I dont know if my tastebuds have changed or if I was just trying the wrong stuff, but recently I have tried some very good dark chocolate, and I am preferring it over milk chocolate. It isnt as cloying. I find I can eat a little and be happy. I know it is healthier, which is a huge bonus. Pretty sure prior experience with dark chocolate was just HersheysSpecialDark, and so yeh.. when I decided to try dark chocolate again, I went for more premium brands (at premium prices). This is very good tasting to me. Has a bite, but not bitter. Just enough creaminess to lend a good mouth feel. The grit factor really adds a lot to the experience for me.Each packed round has 2 disks inside. Pack of 12 equates to 24 discs. Score marks allow for easy breaking off of pieces. I like that I can savor a slice at a time. I have not done anything else with it other than to eat it directly.

So delicious!
If you love Mexican chocolate, give these a try. Initially the price point may make them seem cost prohibitive, but we all need a treat once in a while.!The chocolate is moderately crunchy with a slightly sandy feel so don’t expect a “smooth” sweet treat. They’re gritty and delicious.

Best chocolate
I don’t usually eat chocolate at all but if I do is definitely this one. I love the unique flavors, I love the special texture and the amazing taste! I only don’t like the price.

Very dark chocolate, less sweet
I didn't realize how strong some of the varieties are. Unlike other brands I've purchased, this one isn't crumbly with sugar and can be a little bitter so I add some sugar and more milk. Nice variety, love the cinnamon and salted almond most. Next time I would get milk chocolate if they have it. The discs take some work to break up and dissolve (I use a meat mallet) but it does dissolve with stirring.

Stale tasting
The chocolate was a disappointment. It was not stored appropriately, it had a slight white film and therefore tasted stale.

Tasty hot cocoa
The chocolate arrived in great shape considering I live in a tropical area.So far I have tried the Guajillo Chilli and Sea Salt on their own. The chili had a nice kick and not too spicy. The sea salt gave a good balance to the bitter and sweet of the dark chocolate. The texture is definitely rough and has some crunch but I like it as it is.I've also combined the Sea Salt and Salted Almond to make hot cocoa and it was rich and creamy. Tasted good too. The graininess as a solid tablet wasn't there anymore when I turned it into hot cocoa.

Worst I’ve tasted … BUT you might enjoy
Began with the cinnamon flavored. Worst chocolate I’ve EVER eaten. This said, if this is your native bar might be enjoyable. The presentation is wonderful. From wrapping to appearance of the bar.The issue for me is flavor. The chocolate itself is smooth and likable. The addition of attempted flavor, not so much. For comparison, when living in Europe found their chocolate far superior to the U.S. in the U.S. the junk cheap candies are inundated with white sugar. No doubt to perpetuate the health issues related to this that’s been vastly documented. If I were from the country of origin may very well enjoy this chocolate. It’s obvious the maker did a lovely job with thoughtful ingredients to packaging. For me, so far it’s a NOPE. I’m gonna try the other bars and see how it goes.I won’t rebuy. But do not wish to discourage someone who culturally would enjoy this bundle of cocoa variety.Another comparison, 88% dark chocolate from Endangered Species is my favorite. But, Lindt 99% ewwwww. Most people from the states prefer the white sugar brands that say milk chocolate without knowing what chocolate really tastes like closer to pure.Same goes with coffee. Until learning from Morning Movement how to relate to coffee from bean to brew as it’s intended to be explored had no idea how horrid mainstream coffee is.Though traditionally purchased from Just Coffee if I wanted a good cup of Joe. As mainstream corporate companies get little to zero of my business any longer. Mostly due to quality. And, taste. How didn’t anyone tell me or the world of drinkers sooner corporate coffee companies grind bugs in their coffee due to lack of sifting large quantities.Or, how they pay so little to South American growers and other farmers that these people can barely afford resources for their communities.Reflecting on life experiences with quality verses corporate creation to addict consumers … this chocolate vibes quality. My new fun to is Dr Bonner bars. Periodically treat myself to a box when buying toothpaste and soap.Basically, you may not like this chocolate if you’re use to US brands.

What addictive tasting chocolate.
I LOVE THE GRAINY EARTHY TEXTURE.PURE GENIUS.THE SWEET CHOCOLATE HAS NICE FLAVOUR AS WELL THE 85% DARK.SOME PEOPLE DON’T LIKE IT BUT I TOOK TO IT RIGHT AWAY.I AM GLAD I LOVE IT BECAUSE LESS SUGAR IS BETTER FOR YOU.THIS CHOCOLATE IS HARD TO PUT DOWN.GREAT TO KNOW IT IS NOT LOADED IN HEAVY METALS WHICH MANY BRANDS CONTAIN IT.I WOULD BUY MORE OF IT BUT THE PRICE IS SO HIGH.I WILL BUY IT ONLY PERIODICALLY.SO IN LOVE WITH IT.I AM GOING TO MEXICO TO SEE IF I CAN FIND STONE GROUND CHOCOLATE.

Great Stuff
Just cocoa & sugar & surprisingly addictive. It has a gritty texture, but a buttery chocolatey flavour. I tried the black pepper one too, wish they were not so expensive or I would buy them more often.

Delicious.
Love it. I bought this to make chocolate “barks” but I love it melted down just as hot chocolate. No sugar necessary. I used approx 3 triangles for 8 oz of milk. I particularly love the tony bit of ground beans left. Nice bouncy chew.
